Ballet & Pointe
Ballet is a classical dance form demanding grace and precision,
using formalized steps and vocabulary. Correct technique,
flexibility and strength are emphasized in class.
The class consists with a series of barre, center floor and
across the floor exercises. Technique and
fundamentals are built upon at a successive rate. The
Dance Director and Instructor decide upon the advancement rate
through the Ballet Program for the student.
Mini Ballet is generally recommended for beginning dancers,
age 5 to 8 years.
Junior Ballet is recommended for the ballet student from age 8
to 12 years.
Dancers with more ballet experience are recommended for
Intermediate or Advance Ballet classes.
Students demonstrating satisfactory strength, technique and
progress are recommended for Pointe class. All
Pointe students must be recommended by the Dance Director
and/or a Ballet Instructor.
Our Ballet/Pointe Instructors are highly qualified in teaching all levels of classes.
Dress Code: Ballet students must
wear a black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes.
Hair must be pulled securely up and away from the face and
neck. Warm-ups are allowed for the first few minutes of
class, but must be removed for the Instructor to view the
student's body lines and technique. Ballet skirts
are allowed in class; however, cover-ups are not allowed.
All Pointe students must also purchase pointe shoes.
